How to reprogram your subconscious to crave progress instead of validation.
It’s easier than you think.
Let me ask you a question, bro…
Do you like making progress, or are you just thirsty for attention?
Humans are social creatures, I get it, we want to be seen and liked by other people, so we could feel good in the moment.
But this is where people make the worst mistake.
They think they’re addicted to growth, but they’re addicted to applause.
If no one claps, they lose motivation.
You’re not doing it “for the love of the game” that’s validation dependence.
And it’s not totally your fault.
Your brain got wired this way.
When you were a kid, every good thing you did came with a pat on the head.
Clean your room? You get a “Good job.”
Get an A? “We’re proud of you”
Your brain started to think that the point of doing good things is so people will notice and approve.
Fast forward to adulthood… social media comes along and turns that into a 24/7 dopamine casino.
Like slot machine type sh*t.
Post a gym pic → likes.
Share something interesting → comments.
We literally wired ourselves to only feel good about something ONLY if someone else reacts to it.
Take business for example.
Everyone wants to get rich, they repost these “luxury lifestyle” videos on their tiktok, thinking they’ll magically manifest that life.
Nah, you have to work for it.
You have to work for it when there’s nobody to motivate you and you have nothing to show for.
I literally made fun of my homeboy the other day.
All talk no show…
He was talking about starting a car detailing business and how he’ll get rich.
Guess what, months gone by and he forgot about it, shame on you…
The real ones know that all the work has to be done while nobody is watching.
When you’re in the trenches, questioning if it’s going to work.
You literally have to have to retrain your subconscious like a dog (not with biscuits)
But with rewards it gets for the right behavior.
Track your growth in a way you can see it, even if no one else can.
Not vague goals like “get better at sales” but hard numbers…
Calls made, hours practiced, workouts completed
Your brain needs receipts.
And as soon as you do something that’s putting you forward, you give yourself a reward.
Went for a run for a week straight?
Go buy some ice cream, or have a cheat meal, because it makes you feel like you’ve earned it.
But most importantly, don’t fall back into the trap.
This one’s brutal but necessary.
For a while, stop broadcasting your every move.
If you can’t feel good without telling people, you’re still owned by their reactions.
Once you do that, you acquire a new identity.
You act as the person you desire to be before actually becoming him.
When you rewire this mess, everything changes.
You stop stalling when the spotlight’s off.
You keep moving even when no one’s watching.
And weirdly enough, that’s when people start noticing.
It’s easy as ABC, only if you do it right.
